ARTED was founded by research-based medical device companies operating in Turkey that came together with the purpose of the improvement of the innovative research-based medical device industry in Turkey. The Association aims to increase access to modern innovative treatment – particularly for the Turkish public – provided using the possibilities provided by technology by research-based medical device companies operating in Turkey to contribute to the improvement of adherence to professional work principles through the examples application of good production, clinic, laboratory, promotion market supervision. ARTED currently has nineteen legal person members. These members are; 3M, Abbott, Alcon, Bausch Health, Bayer, B. Braun, Beckman Coulter, Becton Dickinson, bioMerieux, Boston Scientific, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Philips, Roche Diagnostik, Siemens Healthineers, Smith & Nephew, Stryker, Sysmex and Zimmer Biomet.

Legalreal persons who share the purposes of ARTED that have been stated above may submit a membership application to ARTED in the situation that they satisfy the conditions in the ARTED Bylaws. Article 4 of the ARTED Bylaws which determines this issue which can be found under ‘About Us’ section in our web site, is as follows;

Membership

For Legal Persons

All firms may become a member of the Association provided that these firms set-aside 2% of their annual turnover for research development also documented such setting aside, are established have representative offices in Turkey with at least 50% foreign shareholding, operate as an incorporated company in the medical device technologies sector in the United States, Canada, European Union countries, Japan and Australia are a member of Eucomed Edma Advamed.

Legal person member will be represented by a representative member who is appointed by such legal person.

For Real Persons

A real persons who are employees of the companies specified in the Legal Entities heading and who are over the age of 18, whom the company has determined as the person to represent them in the association. who have the capacity to act who are not prohibited from being a member of associations, and who have not been convicted of any disgraceful crime.Turkey has the right to reside in Turkey, with Non-citizens can become members of the Association.

The application process for membership the obligations of members have been stated under Article 5. Accordingly, reallegal persons who satisfy the conditions stipulated under in Article 4 must duly complete the membership application form in writing deliver it to the Board of Directors of the Association. During the course of acceptance to such membership, in the situation that the board of directors regards it to be necessary, the board of directors may request that the nominee member company provide certain information documents in order to determine whether the conditions set forth in Article 4 have been fulfilled may request an audit of their company books records by an independent audit firm.

The board of directors shall submit the applications for membership to the members of the Association in order to obtain their opinion,in the situation that the membership application is accepted by the Board of Directors following the obtained opinions, the member shall gain the title of membership upon being registered in the membership book as a “member”.

Within the scope of the aforementioned articles, membership of a legal person satisfying the membership conditions will be possible after the board of directors’ decision made pursuant to the application of the legal person the membership procedures will be completed upon the new member paying the membership entrance fee.

ARTED members are bound by the ARTED Bylaws, the ARTED Guidelines on Communication with Healthcare Professionals, Ethical Rules Work Practices the Guidelines on Compliance with Competition Rules.

ARTED, believes that its contribution to the medical device sector will be enhanced by sector representative joining ARTED evaluates membership applications in this light.
